Classic cross-country skiing tracks in Riverside Park were damaged by what seemed to be an ATV on Jan. 21.

Vanderhoof’s local RCMP detachment lodged 60 files, which included six prisoners, in the past week.

Test-run in the wrong place

A man on a three-wheel ATV was seen riding along Riverside Park trails and performing doughnut-shaped manoeuvres at 6:50 p.m. on Jan. 22.

He indicated to attending police officers that he newly purchased the ATV and was test driving it.

The police ensured that the vehicle was not stolen, and the man was advised to leave the park and stay off the roads with the ATV.

He had not previous driving incident history with the police.

Off with the alarm for bike

A 2011 Kawasaki Ninja 400R motorbike was taken from a backyard shed along Stewart Street West.

Reported on Jan. 24, the theft is estimated to have occurred sometime in the previous week.

An unknown person set off and destroyed a security device at the shed’s door, entered the shed, took the bike, and left without stealing other items.

The vehicle was previously advertised online by its owner, and investigation continues with neighbour inquiries.

Open door, take tools

Chainsaw, tools, and a toolbox were found missing from an unlocked residential shed on Ens Road.

Reported on Jan. 25, the owner came home to find the shed’s door opened; the theft occurred sometime in the previous 24 hours.

Serial numbers of the stolen equipment were added to police databases, and those with information are advised to contact the RCMP at the local office or through CrimeStoppers.
