The District of Vanderhoof issued a $1.5-million construction permit to a restaurant-related business earlier this year; however, has declined to name the establishment.

The Express filed a freedom of information (FOI) request Feb. 25 for more information including the name of the business, proposed location, and timeline of construction.

District corporate officer Kendra Kinsley responded on April 9 saying that the FOI legislation allows the district to reject a request if the information is going to be released within 60 days.

She said information requested “will be released for public consumption by May 21, 2021.”
