ELLEN IRELAND

It is with sadness that we
announce the passing of our
beloved mother, grandmother
and great-grandmother, Ellen,
at the age of 82. She is
survived by one brother, Jack
(June), 7 children Sheila (Jim),
Karen, Laurel, Valerie, Lasina
(Rory), Peder, Cheryl (Kyle),
14 grandchildren, and 9
great-grandchildren. Holding a
special place in her heart are
Robert and Rayanne Charlie.
Ellen lived a life of service, fi rst
and foremost to her family.
During the 1970s she was
very active in Edmonton on
many boards and committees.
Later she worked for the Burns
Lake Band. She was adopted
into the Caribou clan of the
Carrier (Yinka Dene) people.
She carried the name of Yaz
Dene Ya with honour and
dignity in the feast house.
