KRISTIAN JAMES NYSVEN

JUNE 28, 1940-MAY 15, 2010

Kris passed away in Vanderhoof Hospital in the presence of family and good friends. Despite his remarkable strength and courage he lost a long battle with cancer. Kris was born in Burns Lake, BC to Knut & Dorothy Nysven. He grew up on the family farm at McDonald’s Landing along Francois Lake. Kris attend schools at Tatalrose, Grassy

Plains, Correspondence and UBC Trades Training. In his early days Kris worked for BC Forest Service and Big Game

Guiding, among others. In 1968 he joined Canada Post and delivered Rural Route #1 for the next 15 years. About 1984 Kris move to Ft. Fraser BC where he worked in the Siliviculture Industry until his retirement.

He was well known for his expertise in his greenhouse

and the professionalism of his woodworking hobby. Kris was predeceased by his father Knut in October 1980.

He leaves behind his mother Dorothy; sisters, Ann Sandercott (Alan), Kay Mobley (Bruce), and Joylyn Murakami, brothers; Fred Nysven (Lisa), Ernie Nysven (Diane), plus many nieces & nephews. Kris was an avid hunter, fisherman, trapper and loved anything to do with the outdoors. He was a kind and considerate man all his life. Kris will be missed by many who cherished his friendship. Donations may be made to the B.C. Cancer Society in Kris’s name.
