Susan Ann Hooper

July 25, 1956-May 15, 2016


With profound sadness we announce the passing of Susan Ann Hooper (nee Beers). Susan passed away peacefully at home with her loving husband, Terry Hooper by her side. Susan fought a long battle against illness with dignity and grace.

She is survived by her children Angie Hooper (Dan), Chris Hooper (Miranda), Jeff Hooper (Kayla). Grandson’s Lucas Woodruff (Crystal), Kayven and Kohl Hooper, Granddaughter’s Jessie Woodruff (Dustin), Cassidy Hyokki, and Jorden Hooper.

Susan leaves behind 6 siblings, Richard Beers (Debbie), Lynda Everts (Barry), Karen Beers (Tim), Janet Wheating (Loyd), Carl Beers (Debbie), Sheila Coubrough (Ross).

Brothers-in-law, Joe Hooper (Debbie), Jim Hooper (Darlene), Sisters-in law, Wendy Haslam (Jack), Lynn Ginter (Ken). Susan was predeceased by her parents Ivan (2002) and Marlene Beers (2015).

Susan also has many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who will miss her deeply and remember her fondly.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the community of Vanderhoof for the outpouring of support and kindness. Susan herself was so touched by all that was done to help her family through this difficult time.

Susan was part of the core group of people who started IDIDALAP4CANCER in 2011. She volunteered many hours of her time to help organize this event and participated in it every year. Her family and friends have created a team in her memory. TEAM Sue Hooper will be in Vanderhoof BC at the NVSS track on June 17. In lieu of flowers donations can be made on the events website in Sue’s name or at the event itself.
