House Concert series with Rick Fines and Rick Romain

The Fri. Feb. 9 event was a surprisingly well attended considering the recent heavy snowfall which threatened, but failed to succeed in preventing the fourth in the series of House Concerts hosted by the Nechako Community Arts Council at the Integris Community Centre.

The music opened at 7:30 p.m. with Rick Romain, a local musician well known for his music and singing. Even though he was battling a cold he rallied with two enjoyable country songs.

Then Rick Fines came to the front to share his creative soulful style of blues which is more cheerful than it sounds with a really good beat. With his expert guitar playing you forget that you were listening to one man with his guitar, you get completely drawn in to his singing his original songs and telling his stories through the music.

Vanderhoof was Rick Fines’ seventh concert in a tour of thirteen concerts in fourteen days before he returns home to Peterborough Ontario.
