Students of Rainbow Christian School are on a mission to raise money for the famine in the Horn of Africa through Samaritan’s Purse.

Last week the Rainbow students from the various classes took turns baking every day for noon time bake sales.

It looks like it  is going to be a successful drive, with students being inspired to bring colourful and tempting treats.

“The kids have been very creative with their baking,” one of the fund raising organizers, Wendy Doll said.

One of the parents said that the baked goods were sold out so quickly there wasn’t anything left by the time he got to the school that day. There must be pretty good bakers in that grade, he noted.

In March they will host a penny drive, where classes compete for top pennies raised and then grades 5-8 will host a by-donation lunch also to be held in March.
