From Feb. 14 to March 9, free weekly computer literacy workshops for adults are taking place every Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the College of New Caledonia in Vanderhoof.

Community seed swap

Seedy Saturday in Vanderhoof sprouts for free again on Feb. 25.

At 1 p.m. in Vanderhoof Public Library, local gardener Richard Burkholder will be speaking on “Fruit Trees: Pruning & Care”, to be followed by a community seed swap.

Participants are encouraged to divide seeds into labelled packages.

 

Free talks on early childhood

Two free workshops on early childhood for families and professionals will take place in Vanderhoof during the first weekend of March.

From 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on March 3, the session titled “Setting the Stage for School Success” discusses brain development and foundational skills, and from on March 4 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., the session titled “How Relationships Influence the Developing Mind” discusses developmental progression in childhood health and wellness, as well as strategies that support parent-child relationships for optimal growth.
