Four Rivers Co-op has donated $10,000 to the KEY Resource Centre for a renovation of its new facility in Fort St. James, which will become the extreme weather shelter.
The donation comes from the organization’s Community Support Fund.
The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing announced funding for the new shelter at the end of December, 2018.

The KEY Resource Centre provides the homeless, single-parent families, families that live in poverty, seniors and individuals with addiction and substance abuse issues with access to resources, services and programs to improve their situation. Their Extreme Weather Shelter will provide a safe place for vulnerable persons in the community, particularly during the winter months when the weather is most dangerous.

In 2017, Four Rivers Co-op contributed more than $105,000 to community groups, charities, non-profit organizations and sports groups, over and above the Community Support Fund donations.
