The vibrant colours and flavours of India were brought to over 200 people in Vanderhoof’s Elks Lodge on Feb. 27 evening.
As a fundraiser for Nechako Valley Secondary students’ trip to the India, the event was comprised of a buffet of Indian cuisine, a silent auction that included Indian-themed paintings by students, as well as a live dessert auction emceed by Vanderhoof’s resident auctioneer Ken Threkheld.
Volunteers and elk heads alike were dressed in shimmering saris, and female participants were offered bindi, a jewel to be worn on the forehead.
