Vanderhoof’s seasoned residents gather at Nechako Senior Friendship Centre on Nov. 2 for the 18th annual Seniors’ Health Fair.

Attending service providers include flu shot clinicians, Canadian Hearing Care, which offers free hearing tests every Thursday, and local dietician Robyn Turner.

Blood sugar levels are also checked by diabetes clinician Michelle Naka.

November is Diabetes Awareness month.

“There are over 600 diabetics in Vanderhoof, and most are Type 2 — their illness can sometimes be managed with exercise,” Naka said.
