Jacquie McLeod graduated from the Toronto Conservatory of Music this month, receiving her diploma for ARCT in Voice Performance on Nov. 3, at a ceremony at the Chan Centre of Performing Arts at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.
McLeod says in the past, she studied music with the Western Board of Music and at the University of Victoria.
Her graduation from Toronto’s Conservatory of Music means she holds a diploma that not many people in Northern B.C. have obtained. She completed exams for history, theory, piano and voice to the highest level offered.
McLeod says she has more than 30 years of teaching private voice lessons under her belt, as well as in classrooms at St. Joseph’s School, where she helped students put on the operetta Little Gypsy Gay. She has also volunteered with her son’s music classes at W.L. McLeod Elementary School.
McLeod says she’s now accepting new voice students to begin in January 2019.
