The eighth annual Vanderhoof Community Clean Up will take place on April 23, inviting all of the community to pick a route and chip in with the Vanderhoof-wide spring cleaning.

Interested individuals will meet at 10 a.m. at Riverside Park for garbage bags and route allocation, and return to park at 11:30 a.m. for a celebratory barbecue local meats, bread, and vegetables.

Hosted by the Nechako Waste Reduction Initiative and Nechako Valley Food Network, with support from the District of Vanderhoof and Tim Hortons, the annual event welcomed over 150 volunteers last year.

“Bring gloves, a mug for hot drinks, a smile, and as many people as you can muster,” said Trinda Elwert of the Nechako Waste Reduction Initiative.

“The entire event is a green event, which highlights locally produced food and minimal waste.

“Drop by the park, pick up your bags, choose a route, and make a difference in our community.

“Hope to see you there!”
