A fundraiser for Mewsings Animal Rescue Society in Vanderhoof had an amazing turnout, said Kirstin Rudolph, owner of R2TAT2 Art to Tattoo where the Flash 4 Cats event was held.
“We weren't able to get to everyone on the list, so we have extended the sale and booked the overflow on our open days this week,” she said Monday, Feb. 17.
While the fundraiser did not meet the $3,000 cash donation goal they had hoped for, they did raise just over $1,500.
“We’re very happy with that,” Rudolph said. “That money will go a long way to booking a TnR (Trap Neuter Return) day for our local ferals.”
A Fill the Jeep with Food drive, however, exceeded expectations.
“We filled the Jeep, then had to take a bunch out to make room for more, so we ended up filling it past the roof racks! Yay!”
Rudolph said they wanted to give a big shout to all the fantastic clients who showed up for the flash sale, Amanda Roseneau from Soft Paws Cat Rescue in Prince George, Team Pitty, both Bosley's in PG, Bone & Bit, Total Pet PG, and everyone who dropped off food to fill the Jeep.
“We are so impressed with the turnout and thrilled that we were able to help Mewsings.”
Because it went so well, the Flash 4 Cats will become an annual event and there may even be a summer version, Rudolph added.
