Scott Stevens took over Rich’s Saw Sales in January, 2020. Originally from Yukon, Stevens moved to Prince George years ago, to go to UNBC and ended up staying here. He has also worked as a logger in Vanderhoof for a number of years.
In terms of his business in Vanderhoof, at Rich’s Saw Sales, customers can find a variety of products from light industrial to home and garden related materials.
“Our core is chainsaws, lawn equipment, light industrial, hydraulic fitting, a lot of hoses, and more.”

Every business owner needs a good manager, and Stevens said his manager Robert Askeland is the core of the business. Robert has been working at Rich’s Saw Sales, for 27 years. He has worked through various ownerships and portfolios.
“He has the knowledge base and is an amazing hard worker. He does a lot of cool things for people and is definitely the go-to guy,” Stevens said.
For Robert, he loves interacting with customers.
“I look forward to seeing our customers every day. The kind of work I do here is so dynamic. Every day, I can go from purchasing to being a mechanic, to helping customers. And that makes it interesting for me.”
There are new products coming to the store every day and Robert said they are making new product lines available to meet the needs of Vanderhoof.”
Going into November, their two main brands STIHL and Husqvarna have ongoing Fall promotions on their chainsaws and other products.
“We sell a little bit of everything. We would love customers to come spend some time at the store to experience the wide variety we offer.”
