BC Provincial female skater of the year

Allison Desmerais takes top spot

At the end of each season BC Speed Skating Association (BCSSA) names their top national and provincial skaters for each gender. This award is based on performance from the previous season’s competitions.

At the end of the 2016/17 season Alison was the second highest nationally ranked BC skater, behind Jamie MacDonald who received the BC Female National Skater of the year award. Unfortunately she was unable to attend the BCSSA AGM to receive the award, nonetheless she is extremely honoured to be named the 2017 BC Female Provincial Skater of the year.

“There are many deserving BC skaters eligible for this award and I would not where I am today without having them as teammates and training partners to push me on and off the ice” says Alison.
