Beverly Ketlo elected new Nadleh Whut’en chief

Beverly Ketlo was announced new chief of Nadleh Whut’en in an election was held on April 2.

Ketlo will replace outgoing chief Marten Louie who did not contest the 2024 elections.

Ketlo placed first among eight candidates, gathering 59 votes with closest competitor Theresa Lesley Nooski, collecting 52 votes.

Out of 19 candidates vying for the position of council members, five were elected.

These include Ashley Heathcliff securing 97 votes, Tanya Stump with 88 votes, Eleanor Nooski with 80 votes, Cheryl Parsons with 71 votes and Mark Alfred Lacerte with 69 votes.

Voting took place on April 2 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Nadleh Whut’enne Yah Gym on Nautley road and was presided over by Electoral Officer Loreen Suhr.
