102 calls for service

22 prisoners were lodged in cells, 6 of those were kept in custody awaiting transportation to court for appearance before a judge.

String of charges relating to one suspect

The following charges have been laid against one male who is believed to be the suspect in three separate but related files which took an unbelievable amount of police time and resources:

domestic assault; against two females

assault causing bodily harm; against two males

break and enter; kicking the door down

mischief with damage under $5,000; breaking windows of a car

unlicensed possession of a weapon; carrying a rifle without a PAL

intimidation and careless use of a weapon

On Sunday August 7, at approximately 1:00 a.m. Vanderhoof RCMP were called to the scene of a domestic assault.

Three hours later, at approximately 4:00 a.m. officers were called to the scene of a break and enter and assault. The suspect allegedly kicked down the door, physically assaulted two males in the residence, and used a weapon to break the windows of a car parked outside.

While on scene collecting information, officers heard the sound of gun fire. The same male suspect, armed with a rifle, was threatening to use the weapon at another residence.

Following more police work through to the next day, Monday August 8, the suspect was arrested and remanded in custody.
