A woman has died following a collision involving two ATVs near Sinkut Mountain forest service road.
The Vanderhoof RCMP said they were called to the collision site on Sunday, October 13, at 11:51 p.m.
"Sadly one woman was deceased at the scene and other people had sustained serious injuries," police said in a statement.
Authorities believe alcohol may be a contributing factor in the crash. The investigation is ongoing, with police working to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the incident.
This event marks the second alcohol-related incident resulting in fatalities in Vanderhoof over the Thanksgiving long weekend.
Earlier, on Friday, October 11, two individuals were killed when their vehicle was struck and flipped while they were responding to assist with another collision involving an animal. Police arrested one person at the scene and also suspect alcohol may have played a role in that crash.
