Four Rivers Co-operative is handing out over $165,000 as part of its annual community support fund.

Recipients of the 2023 funding stream are local businesses and organizations located along the northern B.C. belt where Four Rivers has its operations.

Every year the funding stream sees a high volume of applications out of which a committee evaluates and awards the funds to projects that provide an essential service that improves the quality of life within communities.

“We are so grateful to be able to offer this program to the communities we serve and to support the amazing work that these organizations are doing,” said Four Rivers’ spokesperson, Maegan Woods.

“We are always inspired by the passion and dedication of these local groups and their efforts to make a positive difference in our local communities,” she added.

In Vanderhoof, Nechako Senior Citizen Society and the Air Cadet League of Canada 899 Vanderhoof Sponsoring Committee will get $8,000 and $2,200 respectively.

Fraser Lake Quilter Club and Fraser Lake and Area Men’s Shed are set to receive $3,000 and $5,000.

Prince George Horse Society is the recipient of the largest sum this year with $20,545.

The Four Rivers Co-op community support fund was established in 2016 to provide financial assistance to local non-profit groups, charities, and community organizations that share our values of co-operation, sustainability, and social responsibility.
