Fresh baked pies, tea and coffee for a cause

Seniors Connected hosted a fundraising coffee social in support of the B.C. Alzheimer Society

Pumpkin pie, strawberry, lemon meringue, blueberry, apple pear, butterscotch, rhubard, cherry, peach, diabetic apple pie, apple crumble and carrot cake. Those were just some of the 26 assorted fresh baked pies ready to be served up any enjoyed on Saturday Sept 23 at an open invitation ‘Coffee Break for Alzheimers’ event at the Friendship Centre 11:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m.

Entrance by donation gave patrons a slice or two of any of the pies and a bottomless cup of steaming tea or coffee. Added to that; a scoop of vanilla ice cream and beautiful live piano music in the background too. Pies were baked/donated by Seniors Connected and the coffee was from Nightingale Coffee Company. Left over pies were sold afterward. Proceeds totalling $375 from entrance by donation and pie sales afterwards was collected for B.C Alzheimer Society.
