The Prince George RCMP concluded their search of the Courthouse, confirming that the reported bomb threat on July 30 was false.
The Courthouse was evacuated in the morning (July 30) and the public was asked to stay away from downtown area following a bomb threat. The RCMP launched an investigation and shut down several roads between Third Avenue and Second Avenue, and between George Street and Queensway.
Around 3 p.m. the police announced there was no threat and lifted the restrictions on the downtown area, including the Courthouse and surrounding businesses.
The investigation is still ongoing as RCMP work to determine who made the false call to the Courthouse this morning.
"We appreciate the cooperation of the public in staying clear of downtown while we conducted our investigation," RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jennifer Cooper said in a statement.
