Earlier this year, vital sign monitors were purchased and placed in each of the acute care rooms at St. John’s Hospital. These machines record measurements such as patients’ temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respiratory rate and oxygen saturation.
Having these vital sign monitors at the hospital helps medical staff watch patients for changes in their condition, and recognise early clinical deterioration.
Purchase of these monitors was made possible by donated funds from Vanderhoof resident, Mr. Henry Van Andel. Cost for these monitors was just under $67,000. Thank you Mr. Van Andel for your continued support of the St. John’s Hospital Auxiliary’s efforts to improve medical care in our community.
