Vanderhoof community invited to Flash 4 Cats fundraiser

Mewsings Animal Rescue Society reps will be in attendance all day long to answer questions and take donations.

Family Day weekend in Vanderhoof will include sharing love for some feline friends.

Kirstin Rudolph, owner of R2TAT2 Art to Tattoo in the Co-op Mall, is hosting the first of a Flash 4 Cats fundraising event at her shop all day Saturday, Feb. 15.

All proceeds will go to Mewsings Animal Rescue Society in Vanderhoof to aid its efforts in assisting homeless cats with feed, water, shelter and vet care.

“We will have a bunch of awesome cat flash available,” Rudolph said. “Donations over and above the cost are welcome and greatly appreciated.”

The R2 Jeep will also be parked out front for the Fill the Jeep with Food event in which Rudolph and Mewsings hope to fill it to the roof racks with cat food.

Mewsings reps will be in attendance all day long to answer questions and take donations.

“We might even bring Milashka down for a wee bit... she's our gorgeous rescue/surrender rag doll from 2018 who just loves all the attention.”

Rudolph said they’ve earmarked a goal to raise $3,000 this year and hope to run another Flash 4 Cats and Fill the Jeep with food event in July.

The event will run Saturday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

“Flash is cash only, just so we can ensure Mewsings gets every penny rather than losing some to the banks and debit processing,” she added.
