The Vanderhoof RCMP are inviting members of the public to attend the Police Week celebration at its station on Columbia St. W, on May 15.

The event, scheduled to take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., is an excellent opportunity for the community to engage with local officers, the RCMP said in a statement.

Attendees can enjoy guided tours of the Vanderhoof Station on Columbia St. W and explore various emergency vehicles, including an RCMP police vehicle, a BCAS ambulance, and a fire truck from the Vanderhoof Volunteer Fire Department.

Additionally, representatives from Nechako Valley Search and Rescue, BC Conservation Service, RCMP Operational Communication Centre, Police Dog Services, and Forensics Identification Services will be present.

Four Rivers Co-op will also host a BBQ lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with all proceeds directed to Cops for Cancer. Tim Hortons and Bakkerij Lobelle will generously provide complimentary treats and hot beverages.

Police are calling on families from Vanderhoof and surrounding areas to attend this event.
