Vanderhoof RCMP looking for driver in hit and run

Vanderhoof RCMP are looking for a silver Tesla 3 driver who ran over a youth’s foot on a crosswalk.

The police said they received the report of the motor vehicle incident on the evening of Feb. 5.

The incident took place on the same day between 12:15 to 12: 30p.m when the pedestrian was on the Rainbow crosswalk near Nechako Valley Senior Secondary (NVSS).

The police said the vehicle that ran over the youth’s foot is believed to be a silver Tesla 3 however no other descriptors are known.

The youth was taken to hospital for medical treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, the police said in a statement.

“The RCMP are reminding drivers to be aware of their surroundings at all times, especially around parks and schools,” said Cpl Steven McLean, Vanderhoof RCMP.

The police is asking public who were in the area at the time, or have any information to aid in the investigation, to call Cst Bennett of the Vanderhoof RCMP at (250) 567-2222 or Crime Stoppers at 1 800 222-8477.
