Vanderhoof RCMP looking for driver in hit and run

Vanderhoof RCMP are looking for a silver Tesla 3 driver who ran over a youth’s foot on a crosswalk.

The police said they received the report of the motor vehicle incident on the evening of Feb. 5.

The incident took place on the same day between 12:15 to 12: 30p.m when the pedestrian was on the Rainbow crosswalk near Nechako Valley Senior Secondary (NVSS).

The police said the vehicle that ran over the youth’s foot is believed to be a silver Tesla 3 however no other descriptors are known.

The youth was taken to hospital for medical treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, the police said in a statement.

“The RCMP are reminding drivers to be aware of their surroundings at all times, especially around parks and schools,” said Cpl Steven McLean, Vanderhoof RCMP.
