2020 Fall Fair challenge awards local artisans

To keep the spirit of the Fall Fair alive this year, as it had to be cancelled due to the pandemic, various businesses in Vanderhoof showcased entries from local artisans.

To keep the spirit of the Fall Fair alive this year, as it had to be cancelled due to the pandemic, various businesses in Vanderhoof showcased entries from local artisans.

A 2020 “Fall Fair” Exhibit Challenge, sponsored by the Vanderhoof Chamber of Commerce, was held Aug. 4 until Aug. 15 and had entries from quilters, crafters, artists, growers and more.

There was one prize awarded per division based on “People’s Choice” voting.

Below are the different categories along with the winners.

  • Preschool - Henry Moon
  • Junior - Alexa Funk
  • Youth - Nikki Wiebe
  • Flowers - Margaret Hall
  • Quilting - a tie shared by Violent Larson and Dana Jansen
  • Knitting - Mary Burkholder
  • Needlework - Esther Byers
  • Photography - Anne Egli

Other volunteers and sponsoring businesses include - Vanderhoof Department Store, Wallace Studios, Four Rivers Co-op, Vanderhoof Public Library, Maxine’s Greenhouse, Dollar Store, Studio X Country Cupboard, Goat River Folk Art, Razorback Ranch, and Royal LePage.
