A Fort Fraser man was arrested Monday and is facing multiple charges including breach of probation and possession of stolen property.
In a June 16 news release, local police said they were informed of a stolen Ford Escape from a residence in Fort Fraser.
However, Mounties were able to locate the stolen vehicle at Hogsback Lake Recreation area in Vanderhoof.
“The suspect was believed to be armed and fled the scene,” said Sgt. Laurie Clarkson, detachment commander for the Vanderhoof RCMP.
Uniformed members along with RCMP Police Dog Team, Emergency Response Team and the RCMP Helicopter swooped the area, and the 32-year old male was found and arrested, Clarkson said.
The investigation is ongoing and no further information is available.
