The Nechako Health region is seeing fewer numbers of COVID-19 cases each week.
The B.C. Centre of Disease Control reported two new cases in the Nechako Health region, in the most recent update from Nov. 28 to Dec. 4. There were nine cases in the previous week. No new deaths have been reported locally.
The Nechako Health region has had a total of 1,178 cases of COVID-19, cumulative from January 2020 to November 2021.
The rate of vaccinations in the region’s population is lower than the rest of the Northwest areas.
As of Dec. 7, the BC CDC reported that 76 per cent of those eligible have gotten their first shot, 70 per cent are double-vaccinated and nine per cent have received three doses of the COVID-19 vaccine in the Nechako Health region.
Meanwhile, in Northern Health there were a total of 22 new cases of COVID-19 as of Dec. 10, with a total of 243 active cases. The number of active cases in all of B.C. stands at 2,994.
