District looking to create more parking spaces downtown

The District of Vanderhoof is starting to look at creating more parking spaces in town after an influx of development in the downtown core.

The District of Vanderhoof is starting to look at creating more parking spaces in town after an influx of development in the downtown core.

“We’re noticing that our downtown core is slowly being filled back in,” said Vanderhoof Mayor Gerry Thiessen.

“We have seen investment going out from the downtown core and we are now starting to see people develop the area and we’re always short of parking. He added that the new Integris building took up a couple of vacant lots that were previously being used for parking.

“So now we’re going to have to do an analysis of our downtown core and make sure we have enough parking for businesses.”
