On the morning of Oct. 7, a social media post was received that contained a threat to all Fort St James schools.

This threat resembles similar social media posts across North America and more recently in Prince George.

The RCMP is investigating but they have not yet deemed this particular incident as a credible threat.

As a precaution schools implemented a ‘Shelter in Place’ during the school day.

This means that school staff directed children into schools as external doors were locked and monitored and children remained inside of schools for the day.

A police presence was deployed to conduct mobile and static mobile patrols around the schools throughout the day.
