A Fraser Lake man was all smiles after winning $500,000 from a Lotto Max draw last month, said the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC).
Troy Albinet purchased the lucky ticket from Chevron on Chowsunket Street, where he had checked it and discovered he matched all four Extra numbers.
“I didn’t believe it at first,” Albinet said. “I had to check it twice, and then it finally set in after the clerk scanned it!”

Albinet shared news of his exciting win with family, who he said were happy for him.
He is planning to use his winnings to purchase his first home and upgrade his vehicle.
“I have been renting for a while, so it will be really nice to get into my own home,” he said. “This will definitely change my life.”
BCLC estimates more than $35 million in prize-winning Extra tickets, and $245 million from Lotto Max has been redeemed by B.C. lottery players this year.
