On June 14, over 20 local vendors poised with a plethora of local, homegrown items graced Ferland Park for the first Vanderhoof Farmers’ Market of the season.

Whether you were looking to scoop up some fresh, locally grown produce, some homemade baked goods or some regionally raised meats, passionate vendors at the Vanderhoof Farmer’s Market had it all.

The must-visit location for locals and tourists alike also featured crafts and other handmade goods for those searching for something other than fresh food. Handmade soaps, refurbished goods, artisan crafted wooden furniture and artwork were also showcased across the four hour event.

Live music was also featured at the market, with the Vanderhoof Farmers’ Market urging other local musicians to provide live entertainment to get involved in the weekly showcase.

Multiple booths were also present, ranging from informative tri-fold displays regarding wildlife encounters around Vanderhoof this year, to the Nechako White Sturgeon Recovery Initiative’s table dedicated to spreading their message of conservation.

The YMCA of Northern BC also made an appearance, with their booth hosting multiple activities for any children who made their way down to the park.

Other than the weekly market, the Vanderhoof Farmers’ Market is also planning to host two night markets over the course of the summer, with one being on July 23 and the other on August 24.

The Vanderhoof Farmers’ Market is constantly seeking out new vendors to provide the community of Vanderhoof with locally grown or handmade items, as well as providing a location for the community’s farmers and artisans to sell their respective products.

The Vanderhoof Farmers’ Market is a weekly event this summer, running every Thursday from 10 am until 2 pm until September 27.
