Mayors from Vanderhoof and Fort St. James all the way up to Houston along with Regional District representatives came together in Burns Lake on Friday to talk to the Ministry of Forests about an audit for the Binta Lake Forest Fire.

“This is a really really important thing to our community because a lot of plantation was burnt in this fire…it was just way too hot,” said Vanderhoof Mayor Gerry Thiessen.

“Apparently it was the hottest fire that has ever been seen in North America,” he said.
