As of Friday Sept 15, B.C. minimum wage in B.C. climbed 50 cents from $10.85 to $11.35.
New regulations also dictate that liquor servers now have a 50 cents higher wage from $9.60 to $10.10 an hour.
The B.C. NDP’s plan to hit $15 per hour by 2021, going up by “incremental and predictable increases,” met with a “responsible, fair approach.” said Labour Minister Harry Bains. The boost means B.C. now has the third-highest minimum wage in Canada.
