Oct. 19 Police Update: peaceful Thanksgiving weekend

“It was a very peaceful Thanksgiving weekend without major accidents, thanks to the work of the North District Traffic Unit and general duty officers,” Sgt. Svend Nielsen said.

 

Boat motor theft

Reported on Oct. 11, a black 2009 Mercury 9.9-horsepower outboard motor was stolen off a boat parked at a residence on Loop Road over the Thanksgiving long weekend.

The motor is estimated to be worth $2,500.

No suspects are located so far, and anyone with information is advised to contact the RCMP at the local detachment or anonymously through CrimeStoppers.

 

Golf clubs gone

A golf bag with clubs, a Garmin GPS unit, and other items were stolen from an unlocked truck on Omineca Street over the night Oct. 10.
