The parents of a missing local woman have issued a reward of $15,000 for any information leading to the safe return of their daughter.

Madison Scott, 20, left Vanderhoof on Friday May 27 with the intention of camping overnight at Hogsback Lake, 25 kilometres south of Vanderhoof.

She was last seen by friends at the lake at 3 a.m. on May 28.

Her family called the Vanderhoof RCMP detachment on Sunday May 29 at 2 p.m. when she failed to return home.  Police who attended the area located her tent and her truck, but extensive search efforts to locate her have been unsuccessful so far.

Dawn and Eldon Scott released their statement on Tuesday last week via an RCMP video taken in their home which was then posted online.

In their statement they remained optimistic and appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

“We are hopeful and continue to believe that someone out there has the information we need to bring our daughter home.

“Please, search your heart, search your mind and review your memory and call the RCMP with any bit of information you may have,” they said.

Fourteen RCMP investigators continue to work on the case and family and friends continue to search the area around Hogsback Lake.

Sergeant Rob Vermeulen, RCMP spokesperson with E Division says police have determined that there are two items of Madison’s that have yet to be recovered, that may assist in locating her.

“They are her new iPhone 4 which had a blueish green coloured shell, and we’re also looking for her keys ... a large bunch of keys with a Ford key on it and it may or may not be on a black gothic-themed lanyard.

“Those two items were last seen in Maddy’s possession and we have not located them yet,” Vermeulen told the Express last Tuesday.

“We’ve exhausted all efforts to try and locate these items ... so that’s why we’re letting the public know at this time.

“If anyone has seen them, or knows where they are, or comes across them, then call the police,” he said.

Madison Scott is described as a 20-year-old Caucasian, five feet, four inches tall, 170 lbs with ginger hair. She was last seen wearing a black T-shirt and blue jean Capri pants.

The RCMP are requesting the publics assistance in finding Scott. Anyone who may have seen Madison or may know of her whereabouts should contact the Vanderhoof RCMP detachment immediately at (250)-567-2222. If you wish to report something anonymously you can also call Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
