Prince George RCMP are investigating a suspected home invasion at a home on Gould Crescent early Thursday morning.

A suspected home invasion in Prince George early Thursday morning has Mounties expressing their concerns.

RCMP responded to a report at 12:20 a.m. of a shooting at a home on Gould Crescent.

Five people were found at the home, and were detained, and a 26-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injures that did not result from a firearm.

Police suspect at least one person fled the scene prior to police’s arrival, and that the home invasion was targetted and involved the drug trade.

“Although the motives for these incidents are still under investigation, they appear to be conflicts centred around illegal activities,” police said in a press release. “The small percentage of persons that operate or live within the drug trade put themselves at a higher risk every day.”

Anyone with information about the home invasion or shooting, are asked to call Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
