Vanderhoof’s local RCMP detachment lodged 80 files in the past week.
Tire theft intercepted
A 58-year-old Prince George man is arrested for breaking-and-entering theft last week.
At 3 a.m. on Sept. 21, three people were reportedly seen by security inside the Fountain Tire compound.
Police officers arriving on scene observed in the surveillance video that two people have left, while one man remained within the compound.
Upon search, the man was located, attempting to steal heavy-duty tires fit for logging vehicles.
Investigation continues in identifying the remaining suspects.
Taken before sale
A blue 2004 F-150 pickup truck was reported stolen from the yard of P & H Supplies Ltd. by Highway 16 over the night of Sept. 20.
To be put up for sale, the vehicle also has a lift kit and side fender flares.
The police feels that there’s some correlation between this incident and the attempted theft at Fountain Tire, as they occurred within the same time frame
The search for the stolen vehicle continues.
Hunting on private property
Receiving a complaint of trespassing on Sept. 17, the police reminds the hunters who look to find prey on private property that they are required to speak with homeowners before going on their land.
Hunters who fail to do so can be charged according to the Trespass Act, as well as potentially the Criminal Code.
