The Terrace River Kings are one game closer to an undefeated season in the Central Interior Hockey League (CIHL) after defeating the Nechako Northstars 3-2 in Terrace’s final regular season home game.
Despite allowing 58 shots, Nechako was able to hold a typically high scoring Terrace team to three goals. Jayden Syrota scored twice for the visitors but it was not enough to force overtime or an upset against the CIHL’s best team.
Robert Orrey, Chapen Leblond and Colin Bell scored the goals for Terrace and Marshall Wilson picked up his second win of the season in as many starts in goal.
With the win, Terrace clinched first place in the regular season standings with three games remaining. At 21 points, Terrace has games against Prince Rupert, Quesnel and Williams Lake to wrap up the season. The second place Quesnel Kangaroos have two games left to play and currently sit at 16 points.
