Vanderhoof – MLA John Rustad will once again be the BC Liberal Party’s candidate in Nechako Lakes for the 2017 provincial election.

Rustad was first elected in 2005 and served as Parliamentary Secretary for Forestry before his appointment as Minister of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation in 2013. Rustad also sits on the Cabinet Committee on Strong Economy and the Environment and Land Use Committee.

“Nechako Lakes is a region of opportunity,” says Rustad. “I am grateful to be a part of these communities and to work for my constituents every day.”

Rustad has been a strong voice and advocate for economic development and fiscal responsibility throughout his career, and he believes the BC Liberals are the only option for British Columbia to stay on track as a leader in economic growth and job creation.

“We are working hard to build a stronger British Columbia, and I truly believe that it’s only under Premier Christy Clark’s leadership that we can continue to do that,” added Rustad.

Since the beginning of May 2016, the BC Liberals have nominated 35 strong candidates to their team.

The general provincial election will take place on Tuesday, May 9th, 2017.
