Three people have been arrested in Vanderhoof in connection with an armed robbery.

On Tuesday, July 20, two people walked into a convenience store on Burrard Avenue in Vanderhoof, armed with a gun and crowbar at 2:11 a.m. and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money, RCMP said in a news release today.

Vanderhoof police immediately attended the store and spoke to the lone employee, who informed them that two people, armed, came in and demanded money from the employee before fleeing on foot.

After going through surveillance footage, police identified both suspects. With assistance of Police Dog Services, Mounties attended a residence where both suspects were located.

RCMP arrested both individuals, along with the resident of the house without incident, noted the news release.

There were no reports of injuries during the robbery and the investigation is ongoing.
