Staff from Stuart Nechako Manor attend a Victoria Hospice course on psychosocial care for the dying, in preparation for a new program in Vanderhoof.

Sponsored to attend by the Fraser Lake Oncology Group, the participants — Kelly Barr (from left), Tracee Dunn and Chona Dick — will share their new knowledge with Manor colleagues in preparation to begin offering Palliative Care services this spring.

“We believe that supporting patients with services closer to home is a priority, from day-to-day health needs through to the end of a life’s journey,” said John Rustad, Nechako Lakes MLA and Minister of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation. “I thank the staff at Stuart Nechako Manor for bringing this important knowledge to Vanderhoof, to support local patients and their families.”
