A Vanderhoof resident is to appear in court March 14 facing charges including assault, drug possession for the purpose of trafficking.

James Wilfred Allan Hurry, was arrested during the afternoon on February 3 after police pulled over his orange pickup truck with a warrant for his arrest for assault.

After searching Hurry and his vehicle, police found a large amount of cash and a quantity of Cannabis and Cocaine.

Hurry was denied bail after a hearing over the phone with a Justice of the Peace in Burnaby. He will be held in custody in Prince George until his court date in March.

Other charges he will face include uttering threats, causing disturbance and possession of a controlled substance.
