Passed Feb 12, 2013... predeceased by her husband Edmond J. L’Heureux. Survived by, sons Albert and Ted Smedley, daughter Georgina Becker, sister Patricia Brandlmayr, brother Jim Spencer, Julian and Gwen L’Heureux, Harold L’Heureux (deceased) and spouse Carol, seven grandchildren, two step grandchildren and fifteen great grand children.

Born Aug 10th, 1925, Springside Sask Audrey lived in Vanderhoof off and on for 55 years, belonged to the Nechako Valley Historical Society, Federation of B.C. writers, trained during World War II as a commercial radio wireless operator, which brought her to Vanderhoof. After marriage and children, took up photography, then was actively involved with the Nechako Chronicle newspaper in Vanderhoof from 1964 to 1971 as reporter/editor then owner publisher. After she sold it as a going concern, she was photo journalist for Langley Advance, Editor Smithers Interior News, then Editor of the Ingot Workplace newspaper for Alcan at Kitimat. She researched wrote and published three books on early local history, was active for several years in bringing forward the Vanderhoof Museum and became a Senior Citizen’s Counsellor, then served a term on the seniors Advisory Council of B.C. and more recently an active member of Elder Citizens Recreation Assn (ECRA) Service will be at theVanderhoof United Church on February 21, 2013, 2:00 pm.
