Far from ordinary
Bernie John Semkiw
May 31, 1952-
Feb 21, 2007
Bernie was a hand faller, an avid hunter and fisherman, an extra-ordinary gardener, a chef who loved to cook and make jam for others after hand-picking berries. He also loved to watch sports and helped the neighbors prune trees. He was kind, generous, beautiful, maddening, funny, fearless, hard working, talented and hard living with a zest for life.
His love for people and all of creation was evident at a packed Friendship Hall where a memorial services was held March 2, 2007. Pastor Hugo Reimer officiating and a community of family and friends pulling together as one to honour Bernie with food, music, tributes and pictures. Although we are going to miss you, one thing is certain we will never see another flower garden, eat a freshly picked tomato or see a wasps nest without thinking of you and smiling.
Go in peace our friend.
