In loving memory ~ Darnell Patrick Schmidt (Power), born in Faro Yukon, March 27, 1992. Lost suddenly, Oct. 08, 2021 in Vancouver, BC. Darell was the first child born at the Faro Medical Clinic in the year of 1992. He started school there at Del Van Gorder. Moving on to Fraser Lake, BC where he attended F.L.E.S.S. School. Finally finishing his public school years at Columneetza in Williams Lake, BC. After school, Darnell moved to Victoria for a few years where he acquired his bartending certificate in 2013, and worked at various night clubs. Darnell then moved to Vancouver and attended college at the Vancouver Film School where he acquired his certificate as a make-up and effects artist.
Darnell's natural talent was always shining through. He was seldom without a pencil in hand. He was an accomplished sketch artist who dabbled in water colour painting. He spent countless hours playing his guitar and singing with his incredible voice. Darrell was a gentle soul who will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his nephew who he loved and took great pride in Shane Schmidt, his brother Devin Schmidt (Sabrina Wheeler), his mother Lorraine Power (Dale Bailey) and his grandmother Kit Power, all from Williams Lake.
His father Kevin Schmidt and grandmother Ruth Schmidt from Fraser Lake, step brother Don and step sisters Jamie, Amanda and Jessica, as well as countless uncles, aunts and cousins.
"Although we can't understand why he was taken so early,
we can only assume God loves a little music too."
There will be no public service due to Covid Restrictions.
