IN LOVING MEMORY we tearfully regret to announce
the passing of Doris Kathleen Porterfield, at
the age of 94.
On August 12, 2012 in the St. John Hospital in
Vanderhoof B.C. Doris’s passing was predeceased
by her husband Albert, and an infant daughter.
She also leaves behind 2 sibling sisters, 3 sons and 5 daughters and their spouses. Her grand children, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren, always brought great joy to her.
As a longtime resident of Engen and Vanderhoof,
Doris touched the hearts of a great many friends and
neighbours. For such a small lady she had a very big
heart. Her milk cows and family were her greatest joys.
We (her family)would like to take a moment to express
how thankful we all are of the fantastic care that she
received from the staff at St. John Hospital. As per her
wishes, a graveside service was held on August 15 for
only her immediate family. In lieu of flowers she has
asked that donations be made to St. John Hospital,
Vanderhoof B.C. Her sense of humor and compassion
will be greatly missed.
In memory of Doris Porterfield her family would like to
invite friends and neighbours to an informal tea. To be
held at the Stuart Nechako Manor (located just above
St. John Hospital) in Vanderhoof, on August 24 at 3
p.m.
