Francis Allen Sholty (Sammy) was born September 6th, 1943 and passed away on March 14th, 2009 in Fort Fraser BC.

Survived by his mother Marcell Tibbles, Stepfather Jack Tibbles, sisters Josie, Serena (Kim), brothers Steve (Pam), Gilbert (Terri), also by 10 nephews and nieces and 6 grand nieces and grand nephews.

He was predeceased by his father Frank Sholty, brother Charlie Sholty and nephew Robert Sholty.

He was the third child in a family of five, 3 brothers and 1 sister. What a smart little boy, he was the first to walk and talk and potty trained. At age 3 he was hit with polio that left him with hampering disabilities.

Francis was in his late teens when he shot a huge bear with the 22 rifle that was killing the family sheep. That’s how come Francis received his nick name: “Samuel Boom mighty white hunter” hence Sam-Sammy from one of the neighbors.

Sammy never let his challenges hold him back. From working in the sawmills, mowing lawns and raising farm animals.

He loved his family and friends unconditionally especially his nieces and nephews. He had a special place in his heart for his dog Jesse.

Sam was so generous, honest and good natured.

A celebration of his life was held in Fort Fraser on the 28th of March, 2009.

What a wonderful world it would be if there where more Sams in this world, he will never be forgotten for all the lives that he touched!
