Gene passed away peacefully in Vanderhoof on January 6, 2019 at 92 years old, with two of his sons by his side. Gene was born near Love Saskatchewan the oldest of 8 children, then he moved to Prince George as a young man, finally settling in Vanderhoof BC for the last 46 years of his long life.
Dad was predeceased by his first wife Geraldine (1981) and his second wife Genevieve (2008). He is survived by his siblings Ina Schoonover, Yvonne Couldwell, Marguerite Soucy, Linda Scott, Torall Scott and Jack Scott; his five children George (Mary Ann), Hughie (Debbie), Arlene (Glenn), Murray (Liz), Eldon (Dawn); 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday January 12, 2019 at 1 pm at the Vanderhoof Community Event Center ( Formerly the Elks Hall) 474 East Victoria St. Vanderhoof BC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Gene's name to Diabetes Canada or your favourite charity.
